Fast health check for your AI agent setup

Overview

aspex doctor is a fast, fully offline health check for your MCP environment that completes in roughly 2 seconds. It scans five categories of common misconfiguration - from client installs to network exposure - and reports only key names and locations, never secret values.

Check categories

Category	What it looks for
Clients	Installed MCP clients, config file validity, and total server count
Environment	Shell environment variables matching secret patterns (TOKEN, SECRET, KEY, PASSWORD)
Config secrets	Credentials hardcoded in MCP config env blocks
Filesystem	Overly broad path grants such as root, home directory, or volume roots
Network	Plain HTTP servers and HTTPS servers missing an auth token

Usage

aspex doctor

Output as JSON:

aspex doctor --json

Values are never printed. aspex doctor reports only the key names and file locations where issues are found, so sensitive data never appears in terminal output or logs.
